It’s was the first time my family and I were in the Oneonta area and we were in the mood for BBQ. Brooks was there for us, yum! We had the most amazing ribs and chicken. The flavors were incredible. Ok...Let's start with your early days at Cobleskill Sunshine Fair! It was early 70's for me :) Best BBQ Chicken w/a side..:) lunch/dinner. I moved on from Cobleskill as most did..:) I could nevrer find the right BB sauces and one day I remember Brooks from the fair 35 plus years ago...lol Sorry it took me so long ....:) Ok..You have the Best BBS Sauce I've ever had and always will. I always buy and recommend Brooks when I see a person purchase the crap they sell in the stores. My husband is from the area and has raved about your chicken over the years. He drives semi and is in the area a lot and always stops to eat at Brooks, which is nice that he loves something so much plus the memories of Brooks from when he was a kid (52 now). Well, finally I travelled with him this time from our home state of Illinois, and ate at Brooks also. I couldn't decide what to have so I ordered the Sampler and everything was fantastic...it lived up to its rave reviews from my husband. It is now both his and MY favorite place to eat! The personal touches were great too...hand towels, candied apples, etc. The strawberry shortcake was out of this world...tasted like my mom used to make. Love Brooks! Lisa Barten

My husband and I had our wedding at your Banquet Hall back in September 2009 and we cannot say enough great things about our experience. The food was, as it always is, absolutely delicious!! The staff was great and the view was beautiful as well. Our guests enjoyed themselves and the relaxing, laid back enviornment. Our friends and family, still to this day rave about our special day. Brooks BBQ is the real deal!!!! It is one of the few places were you can get "home cooked meal" and not break the bank. The Brooks family and staff real enjoy what they do and it shows. Amazing!! You prepared a "take out" dinner for 90 people for our picnic-style wedding this past Saturday(Sept 24) From the folks who set up the order by phone to the fantastic way in which it was all prepared and packed up for pick up it could not have been better! You made for an easy and hassle-free way for us to enjoy our wedding day even though we did all of the set up work (with a little help from our friends) Oh by the way the meal itself was outrageously good!! Awesome to do business with. We have used them for many different luncheons and dinners at our plant. Food has been delicious and on time. With only 1 1/2 days notice they help us reorganize a wedding reception for 150 people. Never once bulked at our late minute requests. The original wedding plans had been disrupted when Hurricane Irene pasted thought and wrecked havoc on the town of Margaretsville. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! Brenda M.

We were there in 2007 when my son played baseball at All Star Village. It is no exaggeration that I have not stopped thinking about your chicken since. Whenever I see any parents from the old team I always remind them of the delicious chicken at Brooks.
Anyway, we'll be up there again next week with my 12 year old son's team and I can't wait to bring the whole team to your place. I've already told them we have to do a dinner at Brooks. Cant wait!

We were in Cooperstown for my son to play baseball and were at the local Tops grocery store and observed the checker wrapping up some type of sauce the lady had just purchased. I wondered what was so prized that it needed wrapping, so I asked. The checker, the lady checking out, the lady behind me, and another employee informed me about Brooks and sang its praises! They told me how to get there and what to order. So we put Brooks on our to do list. There was a long line with Huge parties so we ate at the diner bar. It was amazing. Best chicken ever! We liked it sO much that I purchased the marinade and sauce. I forgot the rub, so I ordered it when I got home. The food was reasonably priced compared to other places in Cooperstown. We recommended it to all the patents on our team. Too bad we done have one here in GA! However, there us always fed ex! Tina Shockley

I just stumbled on your website, and so glad I did. While a Florida native, my parents and all of their relatives lived in Oneonta and the surrounding areas. Every year, for two weeks in the summer and one week during Christmas, my parents would pack up my sister and I and head back 'home' to Oneonta. Brooks is one of my childhood memories that has stayed with me throughout my life. My dad has always (tried) to make your sauce from scratch and bbq'ed out New Year's Day chicken every year. But the memories of our entire family meeting at Brooks for dinner are the ones I've cherished all these years. In my mind my grandparents are alive my cousins are with me and my Grandpa is buying me peppermints at the candy store. I tell everyone that if they go to Cooperstown, to make a trip to Oneonta and go to the Brook's House of Barbecue. It is the best chicken in the area. Wow! imagine my surprise when the sauce I ordered yesterday morning arrived on my front porch this morning! Brooks' sauce is comfort food for me as well as the best BBQ ever. Having been raised on Brooks', sadly all other BBQ is ruined for me. Friends and neighbors always rave about this BBQ or that one and I am never satisfied, none compare to Brooks'.
I am, again, so pleased that I can order here. It has become our tradition to serve your origonal sauce on pulled pork whenever we have guests - even those who want sauce on the side thinking they don't want any end up pouring it on and I run to get more from the pot heating on the stove.

We read about Brooks on the web and had to check it out. We were bringing our daughter to Alfred University and on the way back to NJ,with my husband and three sons, we stopped. My boys can eat and the portions were perfect. We loved the salad bar! Had the chicken and ribs. Have to say the chicken was the best! The bill was unbelievable. Fifty-four dollars for five! Also want to say thank you to Judy, my youngest left his bear there and she helped ship it back to him. Since his only sister left for college, she gave it to him, he's held it close for years. I purchased your original bbq sauce on a recent trip to NY State. I am from Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, and we do not have as much choice in bbq sauce here, so I like to try different ones when in the U.S. My favorite to date has been Stubbs, but I do find your sauce is with it at the top, absolutely delicious, and definately the most unique I have tried. The butter and cloves really add a distinct taste. I just finished a nice meal of chops basted up with your sauce. My wife loved the sauce as well. Very good indeed! Is the sauce sold here in Canada? I have been joining with my family at Brooks since before I was eye level with the barrel of licorice "coal" that was next to the exit (one of my favorite parts of the experience at the time.) I grew up, moved away and returned, and have resumed the practice of weekly family get-togethers in your dining room. My name is Kimberlee Ceballos and I grew up in the area, Brooks BBQ was one place we ate at offen. I am currently enlisted in the US Army and am stationed at BAMC in San Antonio Tx working as a medic in the hospital. One thing that makes me sooooo home sick is the memory of Brooks. Tx is know for their BBQ, and they think they are the best. I brought a friend back home (a native of Tx) for a visit and we took him to Brooks. He did not believe me that NY could produce good BBQ, but when he finished he stated that it was the best BBQ chicken he had ever had!! I so wish that Brooks could come to Tx, or Iraq cause i know it would pump up the soliders....good food from home always does! Thank you so much for ALWAYS being great! Thinking of Brooks makes the hard times ok.

Even though it is a few years later, I just want to say that while we were vacationing near Speculator, NY, in summer, 2004, Brooks put on a BBQ with a local community group in Speculator, sometime around mid July or so. The pork ribs I had that day WERE THE BEST PORK RIBS I HAVE EVER HAD. I have never forgotten them. They were perfect--Supreme, even. Brooks chicken is so good that I hadn't had the ribs up until that day. Now, I realize----Brooks pork ribs are just as good as your chicken!!

Just wanted to say Brook's is the BEST!!! I just finished doing chicken breasts in a cast iron skillet, as after they'd browned I poured about half a bottle of Brook's BBQ sauce over them and let them simmer for half an hour- AMBROSIA!!! The meat is so tender it falls apart and the sauce soaked into the meat really well. Since I moved to Norwich NY it's hard to find but when I find Brooks BBQ Sauce I buy several bottles of it!

Just wanted to let you know that my recent 80-chicken take-out order was a huge success! The birds, as well as the potatoes,coleslaw, and beans, survived the 2 hour ( 100 mile ) trip followed by a one hour delay for guests to arrive. I was a bit concerned prior to opening the trays, but when opened everything was still hot and very tasty indeed. Chicken was very tender and delicious. Never had better! Received many compliments and referred them to your business.
Packaging was excellent. No spills. Ready to serve. Hot. We all ate under a huge tent as a downpour came along. So happy we had not cooked onsite. Everyone had a great time. And we gained a daughter-in-law as well!
Thanks for your input toward the dinner. There was plenty of food and we ate leftovers the next day. Your staff did an excellent packing job and are to be commended.

Being a 1 year alumni, I still get cravings for sauce, so I told a friend about the food on a recent trip to Woodbury Commons.
